This tune is the perfect opener for the album because it sets the tone for what Not From Brooklyn is: accessible, grooving, not taking itself too seriously (maybe because we’re Not from Brooklyn) yet also adventurous and influenced by a lot of different genres. In fact, when describing the sound of the band, if you’re forced to pigeon-hole you might say, “Instrumental funk and R&B with world and jazz influences.” Hey Funk Face, just listen and don’t label, okay?
